NLIS Hub appoints new Managing Director

31.07.08

MDA Hub which operates the National Land Information Service (NLIS) Hub under licence from Land Data, has appointed Michael Wilson-Chalon as its new Managing Director.

Michael was previously head of Commercial IT for XL Leisure Group, a leading online travel services company, where he ran a successful customer focused online leisure business.

NLIS was set up to support local authorities (LAs) and other property information holders in England and Wales in their move from manual to electronic provision of property information services. Through the NLIS hub, users can access information from 410 Local Authorities, national parks, Land Registry, the Coal Authority and water companies, in an electronic format.

Working closely with leading property search suppliers and data providers, Michael will help NLIS to develop its full commercial potential. Michael comments: "The potential and revenue streams that could be generated by Local Land Charges Departments needs Local Authorities to think commercially about the information they hold. This is a challenging concept for Local Authorities and one that the NLIS hub is in a strong position to help with.”
