Land Data responds to Information Commissioner's Office Guidance on Property Search Information and the Environmental Information Regulations
22.07.09Land Data believes that whilst the ICO's guidance relating to the inspection of environmental data is both misleading and inconsistent, it does serve to strengthen the business case for NLIS and its remit to provide expertly interpreted answers to search requests direct from the local authority in a timely manner.
With the average turnaround time of a local authority NLIS search taking a little over 3.5 days, electronic searches via NLIS provide the certainty, accuracy and timeliness that a personal search based on EIR access cannot give.
Commenting on the guidance, Land Data CEO Jan Boothroyd said: "This guidance hasn't altered the need and the consumer's right to expect high speed, high quality, official search data.
